On 5 November 2015, representatives from Speedy Services and Babcock supervised trials of the Rosenqvist clipping machine CD400SP on track just outside Hudiksvall, Sweden. Pandrol fastenings were unclipped and clipped at a rate of 30 sleepers per minute with the machine working in automatic mode.
The machine completing the trial was one of the initial consignment for Speedy Services, which will be operated by Speedy Services on Babcock’s Plain Line Track Renewal Sites.
The first of these self-propelled machines, which can install and extract both Fastclip and e-Clips, was showcased at Speedy Rail’s Product Innovation Day for Rail on 2nd December, 2015 at Babcock’s Glasgow facility.
Speedy is partnered with Babcock to supply a range of equipment supporting track renewal in the UK.
